Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s largest and busiest gateway. After clearing customs and immigration, you’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city or the nearby coastal suburb of Mount Lavinia .

Start your day with a visit to the historic Colombo Fort area, the commercial heart of the city, and explore the bustling streets of Pettah, a vibrant market district where you’ll find everything from spices to textiles .
Next, visit the magnificent Gangaramaya Temple, one of Colombo’s most important Buddhist temples, featuring an eclectic mix of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian, and Chinese architectural styles. The temple complex includes a museum, library, and residence for monks .
Continue to Galle Face Green, a popular ocean-side urban park stretching along the coast. This historic promenade, originally laid out in 1859 by the British, is perfect for a leisurely walk while watching local families fly kites and street food vendors prepare evening snacks .
Visit the Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, a striking red and white striped mosque in Pettah that’s one of Colombo’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1909, it reflects the city’s rich Islamic heritage and architectural diversity .

Colombo to Kandy – The Hill Capital
After breakfast, journey from Colombo to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital, via train or private vehicle. The train journey from Colombo Fort Railway Station to Kandy takes approximately 3.5 hours and offers scenic views as you climb into the hill country . The train tickets are very affordable, with comfortable 3rd class compartments costing around 900 LKR (approximately $3 USD) per person .
Upon arrival in Kandy, settle into your hotel and prepare to explore this UNESCO World Heritage city, which was the last capital of the Sinhala kings and remains the spiritual heart of Sri Lanka.
Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) , the most revered Buddhist shrine in Sri Lanka. According to tradition, the temple houses the left canine tooth of the Buddha, recovered from his funeral pyre in India and brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD . Kandy to Sigiriya – The Lion Rock
After breakfast, depart for Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most spectacular ancient sites. En route, stop at a spice garden where you can learn about Sri Lanka’s famous spices including cinnamon (the country is the world’s first exporter), cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg, and their uses in cooking and traditional medicine .
Arrive at the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Asia’s major archaeological wonders. This 200-metre high rock was transformed into a royal citadel by King Kassapa in the 5th century AD, complete with elaborate palaces, gardens, and defensive structures .
