Pyramids of Giza & The Grand Egyptian Museum
Start your day with one of the world’s most unforgettable experiences – visiting the Pyramids of Giza. These ancient wonders, built over 4,500 years ago, are the only remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Marvel at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three pyramids, standing at 139 metres tall. Learn about the incredible engineering feats achieved by the ancient Egyptians and the mysteries that still surround these magnificent structures.
Next, gaze upon the enigmatic Great Sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a Pharaoh, believed to represent King Khafre. The Sphinx has guarded the Giza Plateau for millennia, its weathered face holding secrets of the ages.
Optional Experience: For a truly unforgettable perspective, consider a camel ride across the desert plateau, offering incredible photo opportunities with the pyramids as your backdrop.
In the afternoon, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) , a architectural masterpiece that serves as the world’s largest archaeological museum complex dedicated to a single civilization. Though partially opened, it houses an extraordinary collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the complete tomb treasures of King Tutankhamun displayed together for the first time. The museum’s grand staircase offers spectacular views of the Giza Plateau.
Evening Experience: Witness the spectacular Sound and Light Show at the Giza Pyramids, where the monuments come alive with dramatic storytelling, colored lights, and music, narrating the history of ancient Egypt.
Dinner: Savor authentic Egyptian halal cuisine at “Felfela” in downtown Cairo, a legendary restaurant serving traditional dishes like ta’ameya (Egyptian falafel), molokhia, and grilled meats since 1959.
Overnight: Cairo
Egyptian Museum & Islamic Cairo
Begin your day at the iconic Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, home to the world’s most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. With over 120,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of history, this museum is a treasure lover’s paradise.
The undisputed highlight is the Treasures of Tutankhamun – the golden death mask, jewelry, chariots, and other artifacts found in the boy king’s tomb by Howard Carter in 1922. Marvel at the solid gold funerary mask weighing 11 kilograms, one of the most famous works of art in the world.
Other must-see exhibits include the Royal Mummies Room (additional ticket required), where you can come face-to-face with the preserved remains of Egypt’s most powerful Pharaohs, including Ramses II and Hatshepsut, and the spectacular Amarna Collection from the reign of the heretic Pharaoh Akhenaten.
In the afternoon, explore Islamic Cairo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a labyrinth of narrow alleys, historic mosques, and bustling bazaars. Visit the magnificent Sultan Hassan Mosque-Madrasa, one of the finest examples of Mamluk architecture, and the nearby Al-Rifa’i Mosque, the final resting place of Egypt’s last royal family.
Continue to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo’s most famous souk, established in the 14th century. Lose yourself in its winding alleyways filled with the scents of exotic spices, perfumes, and shisha smoke. Shop for traditional lanterns, jewelry, brassware, and souvenirs. Practice your bargaining skills – it’s expected!
Optional Experience: Enjoy traditional Egyptian tea or shisha at El Fishawy Café, one of the oldest and most famous cafes in the Khan, operating continuously for over 200 years.
Dinner: Dine at “Abou El Sid” in Zamalek, a beautifully decorated restaurant serving authentic Egyptian cuisine in a nostalgic setting, with all halal options including classic dishes like stuffed pigeon and molokhia.
Overnight: Cairo
Fly to Luxor – The World's Greatest Open-Air Museum
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your short flight to Luxor, often called the world’s greatest open-air museum. Upon arrival, you’ll immediately understand why – ancient temples and monuments are woven into the very fabric of this modern city.
Begin your exploration on the East Bank of the Nile, where the ancient Egyptians built their temples to honor the gods and celebrate life. Visit the magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious structure ever built. For over 1,500 years, successive Pharaohs added to this immense complex, resulting in a breathtaking collection of temples, pylons, and chapels.
Walk through the Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 massive columns, each intricately carved with hieroglyphs and scenes of offerings to the gods. The sheer scale is overwhelming – the hall could easily contain the entire Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Continue to the Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated as the sun sets. Unlike other temples, Luxor Temple was not dedicated to a god or a deified Pharaoh but to the rejuvenation of kingship. The temple is particularly magical at dusk when you can appreciate its graceful proportions and the stunning Avenue of Sphinxes that once connected it to Karnak, 3 kilometres away.
Evening Experience: Stroll along the Luxor Corniche, the riverside promenade, watching the traditional feluccas sail on the Nile as the city lights begin to twinkle.
Dinner: Enjoy halal Egyptian cuisine at “Sofra Restaurant & Cafe” in a beautifully restored historic house near Luxor Temple, offering traditional dishes in an atmospheric courtyard setting.
Overnight: Luxor
Valley of the Kings & The West Bank
Today, cross to the West Bank of the Nile, where the ancient Egyptians built their tombs for the afterlife. This is where the sun sets, symbolizing the journey into the underworld.
Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, a remote, barren valley hiding 63 royal tombs, including that of the legendary boy king Tutankhamun. Carved deep into the Theban hills, these tombs were designed to protect the Pharaohs’ bodies and treasures for eternity.
Enter three tombs (included in your standard ticket) and marvel at the vividly preserved wall paintings depicting scenes from the Book of the Dead, the journey through the underworld, and the Pharaoh’s ultimate rebirth. Each tomb is unique – some with deep shafts, others with multiple chambers.
Optional Upgrade: Visit the tomb of Tutankhamun (additional ticket required) to see the actual stone sarcophagus still containing the king’s mummy, or the spectacular tomb of Seti I (additional ticket), the longest and deepest tomb in the valley, with extraordinary raised reliefs.
Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, one of Egypt’s most distinctive temples. Dedicated to Egypt’s only female Pharaoh, this elegant terraced structure rises from the desert floor in three levels, harmonizing with the surrounding limestone cliffs. The temple’s colonnades and courtyards are adorned with reliefs depicting Hatshepsut’s divine birth and her famous expedition to the land of Punt.
Along the way, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have guarded the Theban necropolis for 3,400 years. These 18-metre-high figures, though weathered, remain an impressive sight.
Optional Experience: For a truly memorable perspective, take a hot air balloon ride over the West Bank at sunrise (additional cost). Float silently above the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the green ribbon of the Nile, with the desert stretching endlessly beyond – an unforgettable experience.
In the afternoon, return to the East Bank and explore Luxor at your leisure. Perhaps visit the Luxor Museum, which houses a beautifully displayed collection of artifacts from the Theban temples and tombs, including two royal mummies and the stunning statues discovered in the Luxor Temple cachette.
Evening Experience: Enjoy a traditional felucca ride on the Nile as the sun sets, gliding peacefully on the ancient river while sipping Egyptian tea – a perfect end to your Luxor adventure.
Dinner: Savor halal Middle Eastern cuisine at “Al-Sahaby Lane Restaurant” overlooking the Nile, offering grilled meats, mezze, and spectacular sunset views.
Overnight: Luxor
Return to Cairo & Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Luxor International Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, depending on your flight timing, enjoy some final Egyptian experiences.
If time permits: Visit the vibrant Al-Muizz Street in Islamic Cairo, one of the richest concentrations of medieval Islamic architecture in the world. Walk through this open-air museum lined with mosques, madrasas, and caravanserais dating back to the Fatimid, Mamluk, and Ottoman eras.
Alternatively, explore the historic Coptic Cairo area, where you can visit the Hanging Church (built into a Roman fortress), the Ben Ezra Synagogue, and the Coptic Museum, learning about Egypt’s ancient Christian heritage.
For last-minute shopping, return to Khan El Khalili for any souvenirs you may have missed – cartouche jewelry, papyrus paintings, alabaster statues, and aromatic spices.
Farewell Lunch: Enjoy a final Egyptian meal at “Studio Misr” in Mohandiseen, a Cairo institution famous for its authentic Egyptian cuisine, including grilled meats, stuffed vegetables, and traditional desserts like om ali.
Departure Transfer: Our representative will assist you with check-in at Cairo International Airport for your flight back to Pakistan (via your chosen Gulf hub).
